REVIEW - BARE MINERALS DAILY SKIN RENEWING TRIO - FOR COMBINATION SKIN.

Okay ladies! As the title suggests, this weeks post is a review, and this time it's skincare!
I am absolutely loving skin care products at the moment, I honestly just cannot get enough!

Okay, so at the start of 2015 I started to notice a difference in my skin on my face, and not in a good way. I've always had the type of skin that didn't require too much effort in order to remain quite clear, yet I always had a problem with dehydrated skin. (not dry skin; if you want to know the difference between dry and dehydrated skin then just click here !) It just seems that in the last few months, my face has just become super oily, and looking a little more angry and red than usual. I knew that I needed to completely reboot my skin care routine.

I learned in Beauty School that products for your skin are an investment, as you're taking care of something that you have for your whole life. When you think about it like that, it's not as hard to part with your money. However, I am only 21 years of age and I have a very tiny budget to work with so I knew I would have to be clever. If I had of had the money and the access, I would have gotten myself the Dermalogica Ultra Calming Facial Kit, as I trained with Dermalogica and it is guaranteed quality every single time. However, like I said, I have a small budget and I wanted something that I could continue to use when the sensitivity subsided. I had a serious browse through lots and lots of brands, but in the end decided to go with my holy grail brand; Bare Minerals.

I didn't want to splash out of the full sized products to begin with, as I still didn't know how my skin was going to react to the product, so I went for the Daily Skin Renewing Trio - 30 Day Trial for 29, which I thought was very good value. In this set I got a cleanser, a moisturizer and an eye cream. All of which were decent sizes and I have gotten over 30 days usage out of them!

Purifying Facial Cleanser:

WHAT THEY SAY:

This cleanser promises to 'remove makeup, dissolve impurities and re-balance skin for a soft, smooth complexion' and also states that it is 'gentle enough for eye-makeup removal' and even 'proven to reveal brighter, smoother skin & remarkably makes pores look smaller.'

WHAT I SAY:

I genuinely really love this cleanser, it really removes my makeup well and after two goes (cleanse & rinse; cleanse & rinse) it is all completely gone off my face and without leaving my skin feel really tight and itchy. It also does a pretty impressive job on my mascara for a cleanser; two enthusiastic thumbs up from me.
I also have to say I really have noticed a difference in my skin since starting to use this cleanser, my face seems a lot brighter and clearer and my pores on my nose and chin are definitely smaller looking.
Lastly, the thing that I loved the most about this cleanser is how gentle it is. My skin was so sensitive and irritated it genuinely would feel like my face was bubbling and no matter how 'gentle' a product claimed to be or even 'designed for sensitive skin' it would just make it so much worse - but not this cleanser.
It is water based as opposed to oil based which is what makes it good for my oily skin; and it also has a calming agents Avacado Oil & Lavender Oil which actually calm the skins surface by bringing it back to its natural pH. ( The natural pH of your skin is slightly acidic 5.5 - just incase you were wondering!)
Overall, love this cleanser, does exactly what it says on the tin and I've gotten way longer than 30 days out of the little trial sized bottle.

Purely Nourishing Moisturiser:

WHAT THEY SAY:

This moisturizer claims to be 'lightweight' and 'remarkably effective for improved firmness, radiance and skin texture'. It also states that it is 'formulated to provide balanced hydration for combination skin' while also the 'potent antioxidants help defend skin from environmental stressors'.
It also says that it is enriches with the new 'Active Soil Complex'* which acts as a 'unique electrolyte delivery system'.**

WHAT I SAY:

- First of all I'm going to start out by explaining the points I have marked.
*The 'Active Soil Complex' is literally, a bunch of minerals which work to renew the skins surface; leaving it smooth and soft to the touch, and looking a lot more healthy.
**What this basically means that it boosts your skins ability to soak up even more moisture than usual and to retain it for even longer than it usually would, which results in a more even skin texture and complexion.
This moisturizer is a huge hit for me, which is funny because I am so picky when it comes to moisturizers. I absolutely hate heavy, greasy moisturizers that just sit on top of your skin and lurk for hours. It just feels absolutely rotten and is so bad for just clogging all your pores up - but not this one. Oh. My. I love this stuff. It is so lightweight, dries almost instantly yet does all the heavy duty work of a thick moisturizer. I am less prone to dry patches where I would usually get them, and yet my really oily areas don't feel smothered either. Since I started using this my skin is noticably smoother and more even. I am so impressed!

Renew & Hydrate Eye Cream:

WHAT THEY SAY:

This eye cream says that it sets out to 'deminish the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles' while it also 'revitalizes skin and boosts moisture'. It also says that it is 'free of parabens, synthetic fragrances and artificial oils'.

WHAT I SAY:

I really like this eye cream. I'm only 21 so I don't need anything that's too strong for my eye area, but I do tend to wear a good bit of eye makeup so I always like to re-hydrate my skin with this at night. I love how lightweight it is on my skin, not greasy or heavy and doesn't leave my eyes even more puffy than they were before (anyone else have this problem with eye creams?!) yet it really does a good job at moisturizing my delicate under eye skin. Also, how can I not recommend a product which is free of parabens, synthetic fragrances and artificial oils?!

Now, I realize that this little kit doesn't come with a toner. I love toner, and it is such an important step in your skin care routine for removing that last little bit of makeup and wiping away any excess oils which have accumulated on the skin throughout the day. Because my skin was so sensitive, I didn't want anything that was too harsh, but at the same time I wanted to keep my oily t-zone under control. So I went on a mission in boots to find myself some Rosewater (good for sensitive skin) and Witch Hazel (good for oily skin). I got a little bottle of 'Ultra Pure' Rosewater & Witch Hazel mixed together. It cost me about 3 Euro and has worked wonders for my skin. Safe to to I will not be switching from this. Boots also stock seperate bottles of rosewater and witch hazel if you don't want to buy the two combined, but it was the best option for my skin as the rose water acts as a calming agent while the witch hazel is an astringent (closes up your pores).

So, there you have it ladies! My must have skincare products of the month.
