REVIEW - NARS ALL DAY LUMINOUS WEIGHTLESS FOUNDATION - OILY SKIN!

What's up blogasphere :)
Today's post (as you can guess from the title..) is a review on the Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation-on my super oily face.

THE HYPE:

I was actually so excited to try this foundation. After my Urban Decay Naked Skin worked out absolutely great, this was the next one on my checklist. (If you want to read my review on that one then just click here !!)
I had seen so many reviews of this on YouTube and nearly everyone that tried it said that it would be best for oily skin. I had assumed it would be similar to the Sheer Glow by Nars or the Georgio Armani Luminous Silk foundation but a lot of people that love the above two said otherwise.
I assumed with the word Luminous in the title that it would be really dewy and very sheer coverage, which is a complete polar opposite to my beloved VICHY Dermablend Foundation.
It had absolutely fab reviews online for oily/combination/normal skin so after what felt like monthd of reading ever review and watching every video about this foundation I decided to take the plunge and buy it. I have to admit it did sting handing over the 43 Euro for this foundation but how and ever this is the nature of the beat in the beauty blogger world! Haha

THE CLAIMS:

So before I jump into my review, I'm quickly just going to copy and paste the exact description that Nars have on there website regarding this foundation, just for a bit of extra info and to compare my views against theres! So here we go...

Well, that is one hella long product information section!!

MY OBSERVATIONS:

I'm going to start with a few bullet points of my thoughts in the interest of keeping this rather short and to the point rather than having me ramble on for pages and pages!

  • First off, I whole heartedly agree with the statement that this formula is 'weightless'. It genuinely doesn't feel like you have a whole cake face of foundation on which I really really like about it.
  • I completely disagree that 'one drop' gives you 'flawless' and 'full coverage', I find myself having to use 3/4 pumps of this to cover my whole face as each pump is literally the size of a One Cent coin.
  • '16 hour' wear? I find it does break up on me in my oily areas after about 7-8 hours-which is completely normal and I am by no means complaining- so I wouldn't necessarily agree with that statement for oily skin, perhaps it would last a lot longer on drier skins.
  • This foundation builds up beautifully. I love how you can customize it from a natural looking fresh coverage to a super flawless full coverage without looking cake faced!
  • For a foundation with the word 'Luminous' in it, that it certainly isn't! When applied with a brush, it is a rather natural matte finish, however with a dampened beauty blender there is a very very slightly dewiness to it. The finish of a foundation never really affects me anyways as I religiously set every single one with a powder.
  • The Colour Medium #4 Barcelona Matches my Fake Tan perfectly. (I use the Bbold tanning liquid in Dark/Bondi Sands Self Tanning Mousse in Dark)

CONCLUSION:

Overall I actually really love this foundation. When testing new foundations I usually look for 3 things:
1. Longevity.
2. Colour match. ( I like really yellow based foundations)
3. A decent medium-full coverage.
4. Flashback.
The Nars All Day Luminous Weightless Foundation is really long wearing for how oily my skin is, the colour match to my neck is incredible,  you can really build it up to a flawless full coverage finis and lastly, it is amazing in flash photography as there is no spf in it!

So, is it worth the investment? If you're looking for an everyday foundation and have the money to spend every other month then yes. If you don't have the money to buy a new bottle every month or so I would miss it to be honest! It's an amazing foundation but its just soooo pricey! L'OrĂ©al True Match is somewhat similar and literally half the price. If you are a complete makeup junkie like myself and ust continue to buy and try new makeup all the time then I would say YES you need to try it. I have so many foundations and am constantly swapping and changing that I won't run out of this for a long time so it suited me to spend the money on it because it'll last me a really long time to be quite honest.

Anyways ladies, that wraps up this post! I really hope you enjoyed it and found it somewhat helpful if you are thinking of purchasing this amazingly beautiful product! Here's a pic of me wearing the foundation before for a night out.. enjoy :)
